Essential functions and responsibilities.

Being a WGU Alumni Ambassador may provide you with various opportunities to advance WGU’s mission depending on your interest, educational path, and professional background. We may ask you to:

  • Give feedback
  • Provide testimonials, be interviewed for publication and participate in media features and informational interviews
  • Be a part of marketing campaigns—these may include print, social, or other online campaigns
  • Attend or host networking events
  • Represent WGU by attending or participating in conferences, trade events, public interviews, press events, and other events
  • Volunteer at a WGU Commencement Weekend near you
  • Participate in team meetings, present your latest projects, and share your ideas
  • Help with college-specific projects, that may include but are not limited to: building corporate partnerships with WGU; facilitating conversations between WGU and school districts; and hosting events at local organizations
  • Represent WGU by posting/sharing WGU social media content, answering questions from other students and prospective students, tweeting newsworthy items, and just being the WGU brand advocate that you probably already are!

Expertise, experience, and benefit.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for WGU alumni that offers members a shot at interacting and finding fulfillment in helping students with their WGU experience and potential students with choosing WGU. Members can use this opportunity to bulk up their resume with real world experience in leadership, marketing, event management, recruiting, sales, public speaking, public relations, and more. We encourage all members to add their role and experiences to their resume, LinkedIn profile, or wherever else they see fit.
