Sigma – Global Nursing Excellence (International Honor Society of Nursing) established a chapter affiliated with WGU in July 2017. Chapter members reside in 50 states and include WGU faculty, current students, WGU graduates inducted as students, and accomplished nurses who applied as nurse leaders.
The mission of Sigma is to advance global health through nursing scholarship, leadership, and service. Our WGU Psi Upsilon chapter supports the mission in all activities and encourages nursing grads to consider membership as nurse leaders. The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is the largest honor society in the country with more than 700 chapters and 1.3+ million members. The WGU Chapter was founded in 2021 and only invites students that meet the membership criteria, which is based on academic progress (SAP).
NSLS members have access to an exclusive Job Board, more than $350,000 in scholarships annually, and Speaker Broadcasts from industry leaders such as Bill Gates, Arianna Huffington and Dr. Bernice King. Through small team meetings, members build a strong community with their peers, even virtually.
