"The principal mission of Western Governors University is to improve quality and expand access to post-secondary educational opportunities by providing a means for individuals to learn independent of time or place and to earn competency-based degrees and other credentials that are credible to both academic institutions and employers.” - Western Governors University
Managing your technology in an online environment is even easier with the new “WGU Systems Check.” This is a new self-service tool available to WGU students and is complementary to the WGU mission - allowing for more quality and expansion of access to students educational opportunities by providing a means to manage the technical requirements seamlessly and effortlessly in the learning and assessment platforms. Each step taken through the new tool will test the student's computer of choice, operating system, internet connections, webcam setup, and other technical requirements. Each step provides a quick response of “pass” or “not pass” in meeting the minimum requirements to support a higher level of success once engaged.
This tool can also be employed by WGU mentoring teams as they work with their students and prepare them for upcoming engagement efforts in demonstrating their competence and progressing towards graduation. We are confident that the new self-service tool will prove to be a valuable step for each student to take throughout their program to ensure that the technology chosen to further their education will support them and their efforts toward success.
