Student Success

Sage scholarship recipient Tina Harvey pursuing MBA.

Congratulations to WGU Indiana MBA student Tina Harvey, who is a recent recipient of a $2,000 WGU Indiana Sage Scholarship!

Harvey knew that she wanted to go into business from a young age. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in business from Ball State University, Harvey was encouraged by a professor to gain some work experience before pursing an advanced degree. Eight years later, Harvey is the marketing manager at Federal Direct Tax Services in Indianapolis and is pursuing her MBA from WGU Indiana.

Her short-term goal is to continue to grow in her current position, while in the long term, she hopes her MBA will shape her into a better employee and a better coworker. “I expect this degree will teach me new leadership skills and other important attributes that will be valuable to my company,” said Harvey. “Our industry is changing rapidly, and I feel that this degree will give me the education that I will need to help our company bridge the gap between past/current operations and new/future operations that the industry changes will require.”

Watch this accompanying video to learn more about Harvey’s story, in her own words. To learn more about the WGU Indiana Sage Scholarship, visit here.
