What was your proudest moment at WGU Missouri? My proudest moment at WGU was when I was recognized by my team as Most Outstanding Team Member at the CHP awards this year.

What is your favorite thing about working at WGU Missouri? My favorite thing about working for WGU is getting to know fellow nurses from across the country. They each are so unique and have varying years of experience. I learn as much from them as they learn from me.

What has surprised you most about working for WGU Missouri? The thing that surprises me most about working for WGU is the sense of community even though we work remotely. WGU really tries to promote a team atmosphere through all hands meetings, college specific meetings, individual team meetings, academic meetings as well as state affiliated meetings.

What was your first job? My 1st job was cleaning a movie theatre after it closed at night. It was scary! I didn’t last very long at that. However, I got a job at JC Penney’s and worked for them for about 5 years until I started nursing school.

What did you want to be when you were growing up? I wanted to be a singer when I grew up. I actually started out as a music major in college but quickly decided that was not what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.

What is your favorite thing to do in your downtime? My favorite thing to do in my downtime is spend time with family and friends. I enjoy doing for others- especially those in need.

If you could learn any skill instantly what would it be? If I could learn any skill instantly it would be the skill of retaining what I read. I often times have to use a combination of learning methods to retain material. I wish that I could just read something and remember it forever.
