Earning promotions.

Westchester County student earned not one, but three promotions after earning his WGU degree.

Angel Herrera

Angel Herrera, who lives in Westchester County, New York, earned an MBA in Healthcare Management from the WGU College of Business in 2015. Currently, he works at Montefiore Medical Center in New York.

How did earning your degree advance your career?

It allowed me to qualify for a higher leadership position. I have actually had three promotions after receiving my degree at WGU.

Why was WGU a good fit for you?

WGU is a great fit for healthcare workers, due to its flexibility and the ability to work at your own pace, as our schedules are often unpredictable. Also, financially, I did not have to take out huge loans just to get a great education.

Would you recommend WGU?

Yes. WGU is affordable and a great education geared to the adult learner. You can get your degree done in six months to a year, or take your time, depending on your personal responsibilities.

What was the best thing about your WGU experience?

My mentor Rose Sklar was incredible. I could not have done it without her. She truly kept me going until completion.
