ST. LOUIS — WGU Missouri Chancellor, Dr. Angie Besendorfer, will join colleagues from around the United States to speak at an event focused on workforce trends sponsored by Mercer and AARRP, in Chicago, IL on July 26th, 2018.
The panel discussion will focus on megatrends and their long-term effects on the working lives of the 55+ generation. This event brings together thought leaders from the fields of higher education and workforce development to explore innovative solutions and to develop effective strategies to ensure mature workers have the necessary skills to adapt to future jobs and other ways to promote inclusive growth.
“It is an incredible honor to be selected to speak at this event,” said Chancellor Besendorfer. “I love sharing the WGU story and believe that our unique model is truly changing higher education.”
Dr. Besendorfer will provide an overview of the shift to measuring student competencies by skill rather than time spent in school. She will also discuss how WGU uses technology and data to support student success, including those over 55 years old and those who are interested in changing careers later in life.
