NASHVILLE – Thirty Tennesseans recently earned degrees from WGU Tennessee and traveled to Indianapolis, Ind., to receive their diplomas on Nov. 3.
“Earning a college degree is always a challenge and even more so when you are balancing a family and a career,” said Dr. Kimberly K. Estep, chancellor of WGU Tennessee. “We take pride in all of our grads, who contribute to our state’s workforce and now have an opportunity to advance their careers and strengthen their communities.”
Catherine Spann, a graduate from Murfreesboro, was selected to sing the national anthem.
In July, the state-endorsed university celebrated its fifth anniversary. Today, 4,200 students are enrolled in the university, which has conferred more than 3,000 degrees since launching.
Also representing Tennessee was Catherine Spann, a graduate from Murfreesboro, Tenn., who was selected to sing the national anthem to kick-off the ceremony.
WGU Tennessee is an online, nonprofit university formed through a partnership between the state of Tennessee and nationally recognized Western Governors University. Graduates are welcome to attend any of the WGU commencements held around the country.
