What:
This Friday, WGU Texas will honor Mark Weber at Seguin High School with a $2000 check from Western Governors University (WGU) for his distinction as WGU’s 100,000th Graduate. Weber, an English Language Arts instructor, plans to use the funds to enhance the use of innovative technology in his classroom.
WGU passed this important milestone just one week after the 21st anniversary of its founding. The online, nonprofit university established by 19 U.S. governors has grown to become one of the nation’s largest universities, offering competency-based bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in business, K-12 education, information technology, and health professions, including nursing.
Nearly 10 percent of graduates from Western Governors University are from the state of Texas.
