56 Tennesseans Travel to Cincinnati to Walk in College Graduation

NASHVILLE – Fifty-six Tennesseans recently earned their degrees from WGU Tennessee and traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio, to receive their diplomas at the university’s spring commencement.

Graduates across the state made the trip to Ohio to celebrate their accomplishment and receive their diplomas.

WGU Tennessee is an online, nonprofit university formed through a partnership between the state of Tennessee and nationally recognized Western Governors University. Graduates are welcome to attend any of the WGU commencements held around the country.

“Being part of WGU Tennessee’s commencement and watching 56 graduates accept their degrees in Cincinnati is a special experience for all of WGU Tennessee’s staff, students, and families,” said Dr. Kimberly K. Estep, chancellor of WGU Tennessee. “Our students are extremely motivated – often juggling school, work, and family life throughout their time with WGU Tennessee. This is a pivotal moment for our students, and we are proud to have the chance to celebrate their accomplishments.”

As of today, more than 4,300 students are enrolled in the university, which has conferred 3,000 degrees since launching. WGU Tennessee has students in all 95 counties, and graduates in 92 counties.
