KENT– Today, online, nonprofit WGU Washington named Justin Guillory, Northwest Indian College (NWIC) president, as the newest member of the university’s advisory board. Guillory brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education.
“Justin’s background in higher education and commitment to strengthening communities is impressive and aligns well with the mission of the university to expand access to affordable higher education,” said Dr. Tonya Drake, WGU Washington’s chancellor and regional vice president. “I am thrilled to have Justin’s expertise on the board.”
WGU Washington recently announced a partnership with NWIC to offer graduates of the Bellingham-based college pathways to online university degree programs. The partnership extends a generous transfer credit policy to NWIC alumni enrolling at WGU Washington.
Guillory has served as president of NWIC for nearly nine years. Prior to his current role, Guillory was the dean of extended campuses and dean of academics and distance learning at the main campus in Bellingham on the Lummi reservation.
Guillory completed a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Sports Management at Eastern Washington University. He has a master’s degree in education administration and a doctorate in higher education administration from Washington State University (WSU).

WGU Washington’s advisory board helps guide the growth and development of Washington’s only legislatively endorsed, online university. In addition to Guillory, the board consists of:
