WGU Cybersecurity Student Club
The WGU student Cybersecurity Club (CSC) has over 4,700 members. Theory is empty without practice. In CSC, everyone can gain the hands-on experience to reinforce their education. CSC strives for the practical application of social, ethical, and technical concepts. Club meetings will include presentations on the tools, techniques, and procedures used by current Cybersecurity experts. As part of CSC, students will have the opportunity to connect with individuals from all walks of life. Students can connect with other students, alumni, educators, security professionals, military personnel, and government officials as they explore the diversity of cybersecurity.
The club utilizes Hack-The-Box to learn offensive (Red) security and the NICE Cyber Challenges to learn defensive (Blue) security. Further, the club has a Khoros, Teams, Discord and Linkedin sites, to exchange information, discuss multiple topics and share information re jobs and internships. Many club members also compete in various Capture-the-flag (CTF) events throughout the year. WGU Alumni Club
The Alumni Cybersecurity club is for WGU graduates from the BSCSIA, MSCSIA, and BSNOS programs. The club provides alumni with the ability to network, learn about new trends in cybersecurity, practice and learn hands-on skills in offensive and defensive security, and enhance their careers.
WGU Chapter of the Sword and Shield National Honor Society
WGU has started a chapter of the Order of the Sword and Shield National Honor Society. Note, Sword and Shield only accepts applications in February, May, August, and November of each year.

WGU Center for Cyber Education works with CYBER.ORG to build a future where the nation’s cybersecurity needs are met by a knowledgeable, skilled, and passionate workforce. The mission is to ensure that every K-12 student gains foundational and technical cybersecurity knowledge and skills by empowering teachers with quality curriculum, resources, and training needed to deliver cyber content to students.
