WGU is the perfect fit for working adults who need a degree to boost their careers but can't fit traditional schooling into their busy lives. That's why WGU and CBEDC are working together to provide access to the Community Outreach Partner Scholarship to help create better access to higher education through a flexible, affordable, and respected program.
CBEDC's Mission
Founded in 1989, Central Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation works to develop pathways to self-sufficiency for individuals, families and small business owners in Central Brooklyn. Our approach to community development is centered around people. We advocate for public/private investments and resources to support the expansion of hyper-local organizations and small businesses. A robust hyper-local economy is the key to closing racial wealth gaps, income disparities and improving the overall health of the community.
Apply for the Scholarship
Clients of CBEDC are eligible to apply for the Community Partner Outreach Scholarship, a special scholarship designed to provide access to higher education in historically underserved populations. In addition to the Community Outreach Scholarship, WGU has over 15 scholarships available for application. Scholarships are one of the many ways in which WGU removes obstacles from your path to achieving your education goals and improving your career opportunities.

WGU is a nonprofit online university. What does this mean for you? It means we're driven by a mission, not by shareholders. It's part of what enables us to charge half the tuition of most other online universities. WGU is also approved to offer federal financial aid to those who qualify.

You can progress at a pace that enables you to earn a college degree while managing your career, your family, and life’s other challenges. When you become a student, you’ll study under the guidance of a dedicated mentor who will work with and support you from enrollment to graduation. Together, with your mentor, you’ll develop your personalized Degree Plan—a roadmap and schedule for successfully completing your program.
